Mentorship is rooted in Dr. Augustus Hill's nearly four decades of practice and his surgical residency at Howard University — an institution with a historic commitment to medical leadership and service to diverse communities since 1862.
This is not a passive observership. Our program immerses you in the realities of American clinical practice. You will go beyond observation to gain practical experience in comprehensive patient assessment, modern Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation, and essential hands-on procedures like blood drawing and suturing — in a dynamic primary care and ambulatory surgery setting, with skills directly applicable to your future residency applications.

This unique environment allows you to communicate effectively and comfortably — focusing on mastering U.S. medical practices and building meaningful patient rapport in a welcoming atmosphere. (Approximately half of patients speak Spanish as their first language.)
